Wastewater apprenticeship

How will it work?

Each month you will spend 1 week learning about wastewater treatment, this will be delivered at one of our sites by an external apprenticeship training provider. The rest of your time will be spent in the workplace gaining hands on experience.

What will I do?

You’ll learn to operate equipment in wastewater treatment and pumping stations. Work across a variety of environments to ensure regulatory compliance, health and safety, chemical dosing treatment, wastewater flow management, mechanical equipment operation, data analysis, and conduct fault-finding investigations.

What will I study towards?

You’ll study towards a Level 3 Water Treatment Process Technician qualification over the 2-year duration of the apprenticeship.

What will I need?
  • A motivated learner in learning and gaining work experience within the water industry
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable using various technologies
  • Ability to understand, analyse, and interpret data for effective issue resolution and process optimisation
  • Quick thinking and calm under pressure
