Staff at Essex Wildlife Trust voted for the water company as longstanding supporters of the Trust, but also because of all the joint wildlife work carried out at Hanningfield and Abberton Reservoirs.
The Trust praised Essex & Suffolk Water for its high OFWAT scores during a time of significant scrutiny on water companies. And highlighted the work being done to tackle the issue of water scarcity, which aligns with the Trust’s work to protect the county’s water supply and catchment areas.
Helen Jacobs, Conservation Team Leader, said: “We are thrilled to receive this award, and it is especially meaningful because it was voted for by the 150 or so staff within Essex Wildlife Trust.
“The fact they understand our environmental objectives and appreciate the projects we are working with them on, is something our team is very proud of.”
A spokesperson from Essex Wildlife Trust said: “Essex & Suffolk Water are longstanding supporters of Essex Wildlife Trust and make a huge contribution at both Hanningfield Reservoir and Abberton Reservoir, where we work closely and collaboratively to protect and restore wildlife. We look forward to our relations continuing in the future and congratulate them on winning this year’s Wilder Business Award.”
