Northumbrian Water has appointed utilities expert Kieran Ingram as its new Water Director.

Kieran joins the Northumbrian Water Group from Thames Water, where he was director for the Thames Valley and Home Counties areas leading a team which delivered record operational performance on leakage and service interruptions.

Kieran also brings experience from BT Openreach, where he played a key leadership role in connecting and maintaining the UK’s largest broadband network.

He has joined Northumbrian Water at a busy time and is responsible for overseeing the company's water operations, ensuring the reliable supply of clean water to 4.5 million customers across the North East of England, Essex, Suffolk and parts of London.

Kieran started with the company earlier this month (APR) and has already got his hands dirty, donning his PPE, carrying out multiple site visits and spending time out and about with the front-line teams who keep the water flowing for customers.

He has also been at the forefront of the company’s water resource planning, as experts predict another dry summer ahead for the majority of the UK.

Kieran, who is originally from the Hertfordshire area, said: "I am thrilled to be joining Northumbrian Water, a company with a strong reputation for delivering excellent water services and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.

“It’s been great getting out meeting the teams and their passion and expertise really shine through and I’m confident we’ll achieve leading results together.

“I am looking forward to working with the team to continue driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring a resilient water supply for our customers.”

Heidi Mottram, CEO at Northumbrian Water, added: “It is absolutely fantastic to welcome Kieran into the Northumbrian Water team.

“He has a brilliant wealth of experience and knowledge thanks to his previous roles, especially at Thames Water, and he is a great addition to the team.

“Kieran shares our strong passion for the environment and knows exactly what our local water resources mean to our customers, and so I am looking forward to seeing the developments he makes in this space.”
