Submit an entryDid you know that the average person uses 150 litres of water each day in England? Water remains a precious resource and is something that everyone can play a part in when it comes saving more water.
This is why we are inviting schools to get involved with our Be The Ripple Effect Competition so pupils can learn more about the water cycle and how they can help their families and communities to save more water. When we all make small changes to our water use, we can make big waves in protecting our precious water supply.
We’re asking schools to create an advert that shows the best way to save water in your local area. In return, our winner will get the opportunity to see their advert come to live through an outdoor digital display for their entire school and local community to see!
Your advert can take a variety of forms, for example:
It needs to showcase your water saving tip(s) but in a fun and creative way!
The deadline to enter is Sunday 23 June 2024.
If you missed our competition assembly on 23 May or want to rewatch it with your class, then you can now watch the recorded session. Pupils can get top tips for their competition entries as well as key learning around the water cycle and how to best save water.
Watch now!To help your pupils prepare for their competition entries and learn about all the ways they can save more water, use our curriculum-linked Ripple Effect Competition Launch lesson with your class. You will find an animated intro video, our water cycle activity, interactive games about ways to save and other information to help get them started on their competition entries. The lesson should last around 60 minutes and there is a Teacher guidance document to help you deliver the learning.
If you are a parent, guardian or carer and would like to find out more about how your child can get involved in the competition then download our Parent and families guide.
